Dr. Laval Daly MD, BSc, FRCSC, MBE
Lanval J. Daly, MD, FRCSC, MBE, is a retired obstetrician and gynecologist celebrated for his contributions to medical practice and international health. Educated at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Queen’s University, he specialized in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Toronto. His career in Toronto included key roles at prestigious hospitals, such as Scarborough General and St. Joseph’s Health Centre, where he served until 2020. Internationally, he founded the Montserrat Visiting Consultants Program and led initiatives like Scope Africa and the Women’s Health Alliance, focusing on cervical cancer prevention in underserved areas. His efforts earned him an MBE in 2016 and the African Canadian Achievement Award in Medicine in 1991. Dr. Daly remains committed to healthcare, particularly in the prevention of cervical cancer in low-resourced regions.
